This Revolution overshirt is crafted from 8-gauge organic cotton corduroy with a soft, velvety surface. The shirt features signature square chest pockets, a tonal button-front placket, and adjustable cuffs. The collar loop allows for easy hanging, and for added comfort, it's crafted with a traditional double-layer yoke, offering greater freedom of movement. Wear it as a warm everyday shirt during the cold season, or layer it over a printed T-shirt or sweatshirt for a casual look. For decades, corduroy has been prized for its durability and modern look. Corduroy originated with the ancient Egyptians and was considered a fabric for high society. During the 18th century, corduroy fell down the social ladder as British textile manufacturers developed the distinctive ranges that would transform it into the corduroy we know today. The fabric was soon favored by schoolteachers and academics, and since corduroy was considered a very durable fabric, it became popular as a material for working-class clothing after the Industrial Revolution. In the 1970s, corduroy became a fashionable garment, an anti-establishment symbol of a cool working-class fabric, and this status remains today.
