Oriol Maspons, who sadly is no longer with us, was one of the great Spanish photographers of the 20th century. According to the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, "Oriol Maspons played a crucial role in renewing the photographic language in Spain in the 1950s and 1960s." And, according to IDEA in this press release, "Oriol Maspons took hundreds and hundreds of the best old photos of Ibiza you'll ever see." Maspons worked in many fields: reportage, portraiture, fashion, and advertising, but when he wasn't working—when he was, as he was, in Ibiza every summer from the late 1960s to the late 1980s—he took photos for pleasure. For pleasure, for pleasure. And, boy, are they good!
