G-Star Raw was founded in Amsterdam in 1989 and explores denim through an innovative approach. Its history is linked to raw denim, experimentation with finishes and three-dimensional constructions that follow the body’s shape and movement. The brand treats jeans as a material that can evolve through design, engineering and craftsmanship.
G-Star helped bring untreated denim into contemporary fashion and developed anatomical three-dimensional jeans. Curved seams, articulated panels, shaped knees and functional pockets express this approach, creating pieces with an industrial, urban identity that gain character with wear.
The G-Star Raw selection at ECRU includes men's jeans, chinos and cargo trousers, shirts, polos, T-shirts, overshirts, jackets, sweatshirts, shorts and accessories. Different denim fits sit alongside clothing that extends the brand’s functional language into a complete wardrobe.
Denim lines include 3301, Dakota and Mosa. The 3301 is a clean interpretation of classic five-pocket jeans and is available in close fits. Dakota offers a regular silhouette, while Mosa has a contemporary straight leg. Different washes and sizes provide a choice between darker, more uniform finishes and a worn-in look.
Rovic trousers combine cargo pockets with three-dimensional construction. Pleated chinos and relaxed trousers offer alternatives to jeans. Denim shirts, Dunda polos, graphic T-shirts and Core overshirts complete outfits with a consistent aesthetic.
Innovation remains central to G-Star. The brand experiments with fabrics, constructions and finishes in its atelier and works to reduce product impact. In 2018 it presented denim fabric certified Cradle to Cradle Certified® Gold and continues programmes for more responsible materials and garments designed to last.
