Veja x Homecore: conscious sandals with a Parisian soul

A collaboration that connects design, balance, and sustainability. Made with intention, built to last.

It all started in 2005, at a fashion fair in Paris. The founders of VEJA, exhausted after a long day, were resting at their booth when a tall, bald man approached and said, "Hypocrites! You defend the environment, but you're smoking!" That's how they met Alexandre, founder of Homecore. This provocation led to a conversation about cigarettes, organic cotton, and consistency. Since then, they've been on adventures together around the world.

Twenty years later, they sealed that friendship with a joint project: VEJA's first sandal.

A design that starts from the inside

The collaboration revolves around the concept of alignment: between body and mind, between style and purpose. The design is based on a simple silhouette, reinterpreted with symbolic details: neutral colors, eco-friendly materials, and a red line on the heel that represents the human body's center of gravity, a feature of the Homecore universe since its inception.

Inspired by his visits to the Anatomica store in Paris, Alexandre internalized a fundamental idea: footwear should respect the natural shape of the foot. This understanding fits perfectly with the Homecore philosophy: dressing from the inside out, seeking balance and well-being.

Responsible materials, positive impact

Each component has been chosen with ethical and technical criteria: the upper is made of suede sourced from farms in southern Brazil, tanned without harmful chemicals. The insole combines 56% bio-based EVA (42% derived from sugarcane) with 17% recycled EVA. The sole contains 40% Amazonian rubber and 10% recycled rubber, while the straps are made of 100% recycled polyester. The interior is lined with soft leather for added durability.

How to wear them: minimalism with meaning

This style fits perfectly into a functional and refined wardrobe. Pair them with straight-leg trousers, linen, twill, or washed denim. They also work with relaxed tailoring, knitwear, and earthy colors. Their low, neutral profile allows them to fit effortlessly into any style without losing their character.
