01 · POPEYE

Magazine for City Boys

POPEYE has been published by Magazine House since 1976 and comes out every month. Since its first issue it has carried the motto «Magazine for City Boys» on the cover: a magazine for people who live the city with curiosity, mixing fashion, food, travel, outdoor plans and life in cities such as New York, Paris, London and Tokyo.

From POPEYE we currently have 954 This Is London, devoted to London, from Savile Row tailoring to the shops of East London and the culture of South London; 953 The Work I Do Now, about work and the people who do it; 952 Trip Guide, a guide running from southern Tokyo down to Yokohama, Shōnan and the Miura Peninsula; and 951 Whole City Boy Catalog, the 50th anniversary edition, which looks at how the City Boy has changed. We also still have 945 Thank You, Olive!, the January issue devoted to dating, and 940 Solo Travel In Asia.

Three magazines from San-Ei

FUDGE is a monthly women's fashion magazine that takes European fashion as its reference, with a style built on simple basics. 277 World Snap is the August street-photography issue shot in Paris and London, and 273 Paris ni Saku Etoile is the April issue, with a cover illustrated by Katsuya Kondo for the animated film of the same name. MEN'S FUDGE approaches men's fashion through basics: 185 The Essentials for Early Autumn focuses on shirts and leather shoes, and 183 Converse or Vans on summer pieces meant to be worn for years.

GO OUT started in 2007 as a culture and fashion magazine for adults who love being outdoors. 204 Outdoor × Fashion gathers the autumn news in clothing, footwear and gear, with looks from the Fuji Rock and Summer Sonic festivals; 203 House & Car visits the homes and cars of people who combine everyday life with adventure. All four magazines are in Japanese, but the photography and styling need no translation.
