The cardigan is one of Universal Works' most searched-for pieces, and what changes from one to the next is, above all, the fabric. At ECRU we stock three, each with a very different character.

Wool Fleece
A softly felted, dense surface. Very warm for its weight.
Losso Mohair Mix
Long hair that blurs the knit construction and a marl that adds depth.
Raven Fleece
Felted wool with a herringbone pattern that adds structure and visual rhythm.
03 · Wool Fleece
The classic
Wool Fleece has been a brand favourite for years: a knitted wool blend with a softly felted surface and natural stretch. It's very warm for its weight, which is why it layers so well.
At ECRU: Wool Fleece Cardigan Grey Marl. The grey marl goes with everything.
04 · Losso Mohair Mix
The one that gets noticed
A knitted mohair blend with a heavily textured, hairy surface that softens the look of the construction underneath. The marled mix of colours adds depth. It's the boldest of the three.
05 · Advance Raven Fleece
Mid-layer or outer layer
A knitted wool blend (85% wool, 15% polyester) with a felted finish and a herringbone pattern that adds structure. Light yet insulating.
The Advance has a roomier, boxier cut, two large pockets and an elasticated drawcord hem, so it works as a mid-layer or as an outer layer. At ECRU: Advance Raven Fleece Cardigan Olive.
06 · Sizing
They don't all cut the same
The Raven Fleece Advance is roomier and boxier than a classic cardigan. If you'll wear one as a mid-layer under a Bakers Jacket or you're between sizes, get in touch and we'll help you choose.

Each fabric, its own way
The garment's label always comes first. These are the guidelines for each one.

Raven Fleece
The manufacturer specifies dry clean only. No machine wash, no tumble dryer or bleach, and iron on a cool setting.

Losso Mohair Mix
Follow its care label; don't apply the Wool Fleece washing guide to it.

What to wear them with
Wool Fleece with a white T-shirt and dark Universal Works trousers is the brand's everyday uniform. Let the Losso lead with plain basics around it; wear the Raven Olive over a denim or check shirt, or as your top layer.

The Wool Fleece: smooth, light and warm, it goes with everything and works on its own or under a jacket.
Does the Advance Raven Fleece work as a jacket?
Yes. Its roomy cut, large pockets and drawcord hem let it work as your top layer on milder days.
Can they go in the washing machine?
It depends on the fabric. Raven Fleece is dry clean only; for Wool Fleece see our care guide; for Losso, follow the label.
