MANERA 07 IS HERE: THIS IS THE NEW ISSUE OF OUR MAGAZINE (AND ITS GREAT LATIN BET)

After three months, the seventh issue of MANERA has finally arrived on newsstands. In front, brutalism debuts as a style on our cover and, on the back, it is accompanied by La Lista, a guide with the best enclaves throughout Spain to take the pulse of design and decoration.

7 has always been a very special number. Seven are the days of the week and the musical notes. Also the human chakras, the colors of the rainbow or the continents of the world. Added to all this is the seventh issue of MANERA , a unique edition both for the number and for what it hides within its pages. It is a copy whose conception was sprinkled by the visit of the director Enric Pastor to Latin American lands, infecting the entire editorial staff with this fascination for its art and its cultural richness. “I just returned from spending a week in Mexico City and the good feelings still last,” the editorial begins.

It's brutal : Praxis House by the sculptor and emblematic architect Agustín Hernández Navarro, taken directly from science fiction, it is a symbol of Mexican modernism. On the cover, a brutalist house in Mexico designed by Chic By Accident. Photos: Richard Powers.

I love Yucatán : Susana Ordovás writes and Guido Taroni photographs a beautiful love letter to the Mexican state in the new book Inside Yucatán , which opens the doors to an endless number of wonderful haciendas. Photos: Guido Taroni.

CROSSING THE POND

That Latin enchantment reaches magazine with the huanacaxtle wood bar furniture from Committee of Projects, the tree houses of Boca de Agua in Quintana Roo, the pre-Hispanic inspiration of the Tezontle studio or the visits to the Aztec country of the artist Bertrand Fompeyrine. Later, among the houses and interiors to be discovered in this issue, there is no shortage of Mexican modernity by Agustín Hernandez Navarro, some brutalist ruins in Querétaro, a haven of peace on the Mexican west coast or the journey of Susana Ordovás and Guido Taroni through the most fascinating bedrooms in Yucatán. With so much creativity in each of its corners, the announcement of MANERA México & Latam was a matter of time. Its arrival will be in the month of April, with much more Latin design to show.

THE LIST OF DESIGN IN SPAIN

The seventh number is also very Spanish. So much so that with this edition it is published for the first time The list , or in other words, the definitive guide to decoration and design in Spain. It is the perfect opportunity to discover the best design hidden in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Bilbao and the rest of the peninsula. Some of the creatives who can be seen in The list as Plutarch , Patricia Bustos either Iñigo Iriarte They also share their latest projects in MANERA 07.

Restorative Color : An unexpected use of color to mark the different layers of the house's history. In Barcelona's Eixample, Vilablanch applies powerful and daring graphics that honor architectural memory. Photos: Belén Imaz.

Parallel lives : A chalet in La Moraleja that has little of it classic, an unexpected marble festival and a constant antagonism of materials and colors... Here Plutarco makes his DNA compatible with traditional decorative codes. Photo: Germán Saíz.

Daylight : Dominican Jorge Brown Cott has transformed a typical narrow Brooklyn house into an oasis of calm where design, art and light are the protagonists. Photo: Victor Stonem.

Finally, as always, art and literature come to life surrounded by wallpapers, murals and tapestries from our favorite brands. In this case, the number ends with, among others, a tribute to the modern architecture lost in Madrid, another to the ceramist Cristina Merchán and a terrifying comedy inside the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. Whether with the visit to the house still under construction Andreu Carulla , the emerging artists who discover us @beninmadrid or Cassina's eternal tribute to design icons, we wish you a very good read.
