Birko-Flor® is a durable, easy-care and skin-friendly synthetic material that BIRKENSTOCK uses exclusively.
Inner sole: Upper layer of leather insole
Leather covering, flexible and harmless to the skin, that welcomes the foot, adopting its shape and folding to its profile. The surface of the lining has a honeycomb structure, which makes it particularly breathable, thus enabling a pleasant environment inside the shoe even during intense physical activity.
Inner base material: Cork
Cork is a regenerable raw material that is extracted from the bark of the cork oak. It is a natural heat-insulating product and has excellent cushioning properties.
Contact sole: EVA
EVA (ethyl vinyl acetate) is a high-quality plastic, endowed with particular lightness and elasticity, which also offers extremely good cushioning properties. In this way, it compensates for small irregularities in the floor and provides soft cushioning for steps when walking.
