Blue Banana makes women’s-cut pieces, such as the cropped Classics, and a unisex collection that starts at XS. Almost everything is organic cotton. Here we go through what we carry for women at ECRU and how each cut usually fits.

An X seen from a train
Blue Banana is a Spanish brand founded by Juan Fernández-Estrada and Nacho Rivera, two friends from Madrid. It was born in 2016, on a train trip around Europe: passing through Amsterdam they saw the three Xs on the city’s coat of arms, got one tattooed as a keepsake, and that X became the brand’s symbol.
The X is embroidered on the chest and back of the Classic pieces, and on the chest of this season’s Nederland line. Three cuts you will find

Crop
The women’s sweatshirts, with and without a hood, and several women’s T-shirts. Shorter at the hem, they sit above the hip and work well with high-waisted trousers or a skirt.

Regular fit
Most of this season’s unisex collection: Nature, Nederland, Circle, Half Zip Logo, Full Zip Iconic, Bonfire and Dice. Straight with a little room, in 400 GSM organic cotton.

Oversized
Roomier through the body and shoulders: the Puffy sweatshirt, the Pike hoodie and the short-sleeve Core, Boost, Oval and Flower T-shirts.

How to choose your size
The women’s pieces run from XS to L or XL depending on the style, and this season’s unisex pieces from XS to XL. As a guide, in Blue Banana’s product pages the female model is between 1.69 and 1.73 m tall and wears an S, both in the women’s T-shirts and in the unisex Classic sweatshirts.
In unisex, if you want a closer fit, try one size down from what you would normally take; if you like the relaxed drape in the photos, your usual size. In oversized cuts such as the Puffy or the Pike, the room is already built in. For the women’s Classic T-shirts, the product page recommends washing inside out at 30 °C and no tumble dryer.
